Housing starts at lowest level for nearly a decade

Housing starts are at their lowest level for nearly a decade, government figures have revealed.

Starts for the first three months of the year stood at 32,100, according to the Department for Communities and Local Government.

The figure is 21% down on last quarter and 24% down on 12 months ago.
