Tender: Rock Walk Gardens, Torquay Cliff Stabilisation Works

Applications are invited from suitably experienced contractors who wish to be considered for inclusion on a select list of tenderers for the above contract: -

The work will involve the stabilisation of approximately 10,000m2 of former sea cliff (now to the rear of a land reclamation area), utilising a possible combination of demolition, descaling, rock bolting, soil nailing and rockfall netting. It is proposed to commence the works in September 2008.

Applicants must include the following information:-

  • A list of similar principal contracts undertaken in the last three years with the client’s name, address and Torbay Council telephone number in order that references can be taken up.
  • A statement of your company’s technical expertise in rock stabilisation works, including labour and plant resources available.
  • Provision of Equal Opportunities and Insurance policies.
  • Copies of audited accounts for the last three years.
  • Information on prevention measures taken by your company in the field of health and safety in accordance with the Heath & Safety at Work Act, and details of the company’s safety record. 
  • An indication of the proportions of the contract the applicant may intend to sub-contract.

Information relating to any registration that the Contractor may have with Constructionline, or similar organisation, including your company’s registration number.

Contractors should apply in writing to arrive no later than Friday, 30th May 2008.
