Construction of 222 wind farms delayed

By Daniel Franklin

Construction of 222 wind farms is being delayed as the Government struggles to approve the new innovations.

The Humber Gateway’s Project and Clyde Wind Farm are two of the major plans which have been delayed, the latter already being 5 years behind schedule.

The news comes as a blow, with Britain still only producing 2% of its energy from renewable sources - a full 13% behind the 2020 target.

Ministers have recently stated that they will remove barriers faced by companies to ensure these projects are easier to build, reports the Guardian.
