Norwest Holst looks to have done its homework on a £50m education-sector project in Greater Manchester.
The firm is tipped to clinch the first stage of the two-stage tender Oldham College job ahead of rival bidders Laing O'Rourke, HBG and Shepherd.
But work on site is not expected to start for at least another nine months.
The two-year scheme involves building a 30,000m2 college on a new site, plus a car park.
