A wind farm containing ten 122m turbines has been given the green light despite locals campaigning against the development.
The plans for a wind farm at Langhope Rig, near Ashkirk in the Scottish Borders were submitted by Airtricity who initially had the idea turned down.
A Scottish Government planning reporter has however overturned this decision, even after 350 letters were written against the wind farm being built, reports the Scotsman.
Deborah Bohn, a member of Against Wind Farm at Langhope Rig (Awfal), told the Scotsman: “There was a huge amount of opposition, but this didn’t apparently carry enough weight.”
