An Alpine-style cable car has been proposed as an alternative to plans for a £500 million, six lane road bridge over the Thames.
The cable car is a cheaper, greener alternative and has been proposed by leading transport analysts commissioned by GLA Green Group. It has been submitted to Transport for London for consideration.
A recent study has seen six alternatives to the proposed road bridge, including a rail only bridge a river ferry crossing and a cable car system, reports the Guardian.
The link across the Thames will be built between Beckton and Thamesmead.
