Hankinson paints its way to £12m turnover

Roy Hankinson, the specialist painting and decorating contractor based in Liverpool, has seen a slight rise in turnover to £12m.

The latest financial results cover the 12 months to 31 October 2007.

Pre-tax profit ran to £220,000, a tad lower than the previous year’s figure of £260,000, which was made on the back of an £11m turnover.

Hankinson offers a range of services from specialist painting through to property maintenance.

The group has made a push for repeat business and has formal partnering agreements with some of its clients.

The latest dividend was £28,000 which is half the figure of £56,000 in the previous year.

Segmental analysis shows that Hankinson’s turnover divides between:

  • £9.3m - painting  and decorating
  • £2.2m – property maintenance
  • £57,000 – property investment

Hankinson has 193 employees. The bill for wages and salaries ran to £4.5m.

The highest-paid director received £110,000 plus a further £6,000 to add to his pension pot.
