A preferred contractor is emerging for a £45m-plus college deal in west London.
Geoffrey Osborne is in talks with West Thames College for the redevelopment of its London Road campus in Isleworth.
Work on site is due to start in earnest next month, with the job phased over 3.5 years to minimise disruption to the day-to-day running of the college. The scheme involves knocking down the present 1960s buildings and constructing 15,700m2 of new accommodation, including teaching blocks, gymnasium, a theatre and a new atrium.
A source said: "Osborne's in a strong position to clinch this one because it's already on site carrying out £5m-worth of enabling works."
