Contracts in brief - 4 June 2008

ISG has signed a £50m pre-construction agreement to fit out KPMG's new headquarters building at London's Canary Wharf. Work at the 15-storey 40,000m2 building is due to start in May 2009, with occupation pencilled in for spring 2010.

McLaughlin & Harvey has a £15m contract to upgrade and redevelop the James Young High School in Livingston, Scotland. The West Lothian Council job is due for completion in 72 weeks.

Willmott Dixon, Carillion, Cowlin and Interserve are in the hunt for the £14m Ty Gwyn Special School design-and-build deal for Cardiff County Council. Construction work is due to start towards the end of this year, with completion set at 77 weeks.

Vinci-owned Crispin & Borst has clinched two deals in the South East totalling £16m. Under a £10m contract, the firm will revamp Bidborough House, a seven-storey office building in north London, currently accommodating Camden Council's housing department. And in Egham, Surrey, the contractor will build a two-storey office complex for Sackville Developments under a £6m deal. Completion is due by spring 2009.

As part of its AMP4 framework with Seven Trent Water, Norwest Holst is to build a £6m screen house and pumping station in Derby. Construction work is due to kick off in July, lasting 18 months.

Local outfit Parkinson is favourite to clinch a £6m primary care centre in Lytham St Annes for Rushcliffe Properties. Site work begins in July, with completion set at one year.

Edmund Nuttall has secured a £5m deal from Network Rail to upgrade the 1,100m-long Hampstead Heath tunnel in north London. The project starts at the end of July and will run for 32 weeks.
