National Construction Week is being killed-off ten years after its launch to be replaced by a new "Construction Showcase" concept to attract new recruits.
The move follows increasing competition for media careers coverage with at least 15 other industry career "weeks".
Roy Cavanagh, of the Seddon Group, has been appointed by CITB-ConstructionSkills to develop the Construction Showcase theme.
Initial ideas centre on a one week event being replaced by a series of large events throughout the year to be held at football stadia or similar venues. Pilots are planned this year for Belfast and London in November.
