Tube Lines has appointed former Northern line boss Lee Jones as its new director of operations.
Mr Jones will replace Steve Peat who is to join BAA on July 1. He will be responsible for overseeing improvements on the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines.
He said: “Having run the Northern line for the last four years, I know better than anyone about the challenges Tube Lines faces.”
Tube Lines chief executive Terry Morgan said some of Mr Jones’ previous successes included improving performance on the Northern line and renegotiating the fleet maintenance contract with Alstom.
Mr Morgan said: “I look forward to seeing him take Tube Lines’ operational performance to a new level by encouraging further improvements in the way we do business.”
