NG Bailey has won a £20m contract to provide the mechanical and electrical fit out of city office development Drapers Gardens.

The firm will supply, install, test and commission the electrical services, while its off-site arm will supply prefabricated pods consisting of containment, bus bars, distribution boards and risers floors.

Work will start in July and the building has been designed to achieve an ‘excellent’ BREEAM rating.

NG Bailey chief executive Mark Andrews said: “This is an exciting and significant project for us that demonstrates the continued vibrancy of the construction market in the South.”

Drapers Gardens is due for completion in autumn 2009 and is being developed by Canary Wharf Limited, with Canary Wharf Developments and Exemplar Developments as development partners.

Sir Robert McAlpine is the main contractor. The landmark building will feature roof gardens at three levels.
