Little Green Street in Kentish Town, which is under the threat from developers, has appeared alongside the Amazonian rainforests and the African savannah as one of the 500 places to visit before they are irreversibly changed or destroyed.
The 18th Century cobbled street in London, which features in Frommer's 500 places to see before they disappear, could be destroyed by heavy lorries if proposals for a planned development for 20 houses at the top of the street are given the go-ahead.
A decision has yet to be made by Camden Council.
Landmarks featured in the guide are listed as being under threat of ecological change, man-made threats, economic conditions or historical trends.
