Inspace bags £60m Rainham housing work

By Brian Warner

Inspace has the key to a £60m housing revamp deal at Rainham, Essex.

The firm, part of the Willmott Dixon stable, is set to regenerate the Mardyke estate after being selected by Old Ford Housing Association as its preferred bidder.

The firm will now work with Old Ford, part of Circle Anglia housing group, to agree on design and cost issues, with the aim of signing a final contract next year.

Work on the five-year project will then kick off in September 2009.

The scheme, in the London Borough of Havering, involves replacing the existing housing with 534 new homes.

The deal also includes a nursery and a community estate office.
