The CSCS skills card has received a major boost with the conclusion of an affiliation agreement with engineering construction's parallel ACE card scheme.
It means workers will no longer need to hold separate skills cards to access engineering construction and building and civil engineering sites.
Nigel Spencer, development director at the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), said: "The ECITB has been looking to find a solution to the problem of individuals having to possess two cards for some time. The cost and time involved in obtaining two cards was becoming prohibitive. We are extremely pleased that we have been able to reach an affiliation agreement that suits all parties."
