Beach work - Isle of Wight

Expressions of interest are invited for the provision of public convenience cleansing and beach cleansing services for public conveniences and beaches located throughout the Isle of Wight.

The contractor may tender for either the public convenience or beach cleaning elements of the service, or both. The Council reserve the right to award as individual or combined services.

Expressions of interest can be submitted by completing a Pre Qualification Questionnaire, which is to be returned no later than 12 noon on Monday 7th July 2008. The pre qualification questionnaire will require information to be provided on organisation details, policies, financial standing, conduct, insurance and other issues relating to the ability to provide the service. They

Attention is drawn to the Acquired Rights Directive 77/187/EEC and the Transfer Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 1981, which in the view of this Authority may potentially apply.

It is anticipated that tenders will be issued by the end of July 2008. The contract will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender received as assessed according to the criteria to be provided with the tender documents. The date for commencement of the contract will be 1 April 2009.

The contract period will be for a period of five (5) years (To 31st March 2014). The awarding Authority will have the option to extend this period by up to a maximum of two (2) years.
