Midland Construction goes into liquidation

By Ross Pearman

Cheltenham-based Midland Construction has been ordered into liquidation, after it was found to be conducting its business without insurance, with inadequate accounting records and a failure to register for VAT.

The decision follows an investigation by the Companies Investigation Branch (CIB) of the Insolvency Service (IS).

The CIB said that its investigation found that on one contract the company received payment of £27,000 but failed to perform properly, leaving behind “a trail of destruction”.

In its announcement the IS also pointed out that the firm’s director, James Cornelius Killick, has also previously been connected with the operation of Crestmere Construction and Construction Management Development - two companies which, among others, were wound up on public interest grounds on 20 February this year.

At the High Court registrar Mr Nichols agreed with the investigator’s findings and ordered the company into liquidation.
