Portsmouth FC has unveiled designs for a new 36,000-seater stadium to overlook Portsmouth harbour.

The construction of the Herzog & de Meuron designed stadium will see the demolition of Fratton Park, where the club has been based since 1898.

Around 750 homes are expected to be built on the site of Portsmouth's current home.

The new stadium will sit on an ex-landfill site by the M275 and M27 motorway junction.

Club chief executive Peter Storrie said: "The club will be playing a big part in the regeneration of the city and our fans will have the very best in terms of facilities and amenities, as well as an excellent viewing experience."
