Laing O'Rourke in line for £300m ProCure21 deal

By Carol Millett

Laing O'Rourke is in pole position for what could be the largest ever ProCure21 scheme, after winning the contract for the £300m Royal Sussex Hospital scheme's Outline Business Case (OBC).

The firm won the contract last week, beating HBG to the prize. Laing O'Rourke will assist Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust in developing the OBC and the scheme's outline design.

The Trust is expected to argue for the scheme to be delivered via Procure21 but the final decision will lie with the Department of Health when it is submitted for approval in 18 months time.

Laing O'Rourke declined to comment.
