HBG has confirmed that it won a £140m deal to build the Laboratory of Molecular Biology for the Medical Research Council.
It edged out Laing O'Rourke to clinch the job.
HBG will design and build the facility at Addenbrokes Hospital, Cambridge, which includes a 32,000m2 main building and a 4,600m2.
Meanwhile the complex will house the biggest underground network of heat recovery system pipes in the UK.
Architects RMJM, structural engineer AKT and service consultants Tait/RMF will work alongside HBG for the project.
