Chase Norton Construction in administration

Warwickshire firm Chase Norton Construction has gone into administration.

The fit out and refurb specialist employs 123 people in Meriden and called in PricewaterhouseCoopers when it had trouble paying staff wages.

A spokesman for Pricewaterhouse said a “significant” number of redundancies had already been made.

Back in January Chase Norton had been celebrating more than £19m of new business, including a £4.3m project to build a new church in the Lozells area of Birmingham.

It is rumoured the company was in a vulnerable position due to the ill health of Chase Midland’s chairman Ron Ackrill who suffered a stroke in May.
