Morgan Ashurst clinches £28m Heathrow T3 deal

By Neil Gerrard

Morgan Ashurst has won a deal to deliver a £28m package of pre-construction services at Heathrow Airport's Terminal 3 for BAA.

The programme, scheduled for completion by the summer of 2009, includes the refurbishment of Pier 7 at the terminal, installing security segregation of Pier 7 and the conversion of current gate rooms into a crew lounge for Virgin Atlantic Airways' employees.

It will also upgrade Pier 5 and refurbish the check-in area of T3.

Paul Smith, chief executive of Morgan Ashurst's parent company Morgan Sindall attributed the contract win to the company's acquisition of Amec's construction and civil engineering business, DPS, which it bought alongside its Amec Developments for a total of 34m last year.
