Interserve sees 'some signs of uncertainty' in UK

Interserve’s UK project and facilities services operations are still growing but experiencing "some signs of uncertainty in a small number of market sectors".

But its expansion into the Middle East is paying off and the firm expects this market to remain strong for the foreseeable future.

Interserve’s contracting arm, known as project services, and its plant operation are both benefiting from work on more industrial, commercial and social schemes in the Middle East, the company said in a trading statement.

Interserve reached financial close on two more Private Finance Initiative concessions in the first half of this year and work was also completed on the Armada Accommodation Centre in Devonport, giving the company 21 operation PFI concessions.

It will post interim results on August 13.
