Balfour Beatty confirms £75m PPP schools win

Balfour Beatty has confirmed that it has reached financial close on phase one of the £150m Islington Schools PPP programme.

Balfour Beatty Construction, Balfour Kilpatrick and Haden Building Management will execute the work under Transform Schools, Balfour Beatty's education concession company.

Transform Schools will work in joint venture with Islington and BSFi as part of a local education partnership called Transform Islington.

Transform Islington will deliver new and refurbished accommodation to two schools in the area, alongside facilities management and managed services as part of the first phase.

A further two phases worth £80m will follow over the next five years and will see Transform Islington project manage, design and deliver two more phases comprising five schools and two pupil referral units.
