Residents have thrown Candy & Candy’s redevelopment of the Chelsea Barracks into question, backing an alternative design.
Members of the Barracks Opposition Group presented a rival scheme by P&O to Westminster Council after planners admitted having reservations about the proposal.
The P&O design puts new houses alongside existing ones and minimises loss of light, reported the Evening Standard.
It also gives shared gardens to private and affordable housing flats, while Candy & Candy wants to segregate them.
Residents have vowed to fight the Candy & Candy proposal.
A decision on the scheme is yet to be reached, although demolition work on the site has commenced.
