South Wales-based Ballantyne Homes has called in administrators from Deloitte, leaving two building projects unfinished.
The housebuilder had been working on a project in Port Talbot, where 15 of 40 homes are incomplete, and another near Llanelli, where 20 plots are under construction.
A spokesman for Deloitte confirmed that two of its partners had been appointed as joint administrators of Ballantyne Homes on 1 July.
"Offers made by individuals for the properties will be considered by the administrators' agents DTZ," added the spokesman.
Ballantyne was started by the entrepreneurs behind Welsh contractor Opco in 2003, and grew by 1000% in the next two years, winning a place in the Western Mail Fast Growth 50 for 2006.
