'Desperate' builders switch to letting

Builders are being forced into letting properties instead of selling.

Scottish lettings agency D J Alexander has been approached by several developers offering their properties for rent rather than sale, according to the Scotsman.

Meanwhile estate agent Clyde Properties reported that sales in Scotland were down 40%, and that the average price had dropped by around 15%, making the rental market much more attractive.
