Interserve wins £19m Mavern Hospital deal

Interserve has beaten off its ProCure21 rivals to win the £19m Malvern Community Hospital contract.

Worcestershire Primary Care Trust said the firm had "a committed team" with an "impressive track record" for delivering similar schemes on time and to budget.

Interserve will start work on the 24-bed hospital early in the new year and is expected to complete the scheme by late 2010.

The hospital will also include a minor injuries unit.

Interserve Project Services md David Paterson welcomed the win, adding: "We will be working closely with the Trust to realise its vision, using the experience we've gained from undertaking over 80 ProCure21 health schemes."

Other contractors on the ProCure21 framework include Laing O'Rourke, Costain, Balfour Beatty, HBG, Integrated Health Projects, Medicinq  and Kier.
