Plant hire firms hoping to win business on the Olympics site will face the toughest competition for a 2012 contract yet.
Almost 150 people from 100 companies expressed their interest in the plant hire and builders merchant facility contract by attending an industry day yesterday.
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) said it was the biggest turnout for an industry day yet and it expected to get a record number of bidders.
The purpose of the event was to explain the ODA’s requirements for providers of plant hire and builders merchant facilities on the Olympic Park.
The ODA emphasised companies must prioritise health and safety competency training and manage logistics with rail or water deliveries.
