Highways Agency appoints new procurement director

The Highways Agency is to appont David Poole as its new procurement director, CJ has learned.

Poole, formerly supply chain director at GE Aviation Systems, will be based in Birmingham and starts in his post on 1 September.

It is understood he has already signed a contract to join the Agency, although his position has not been formally announced.

He will report to Ginny Clarke, the HA’s chief highways engineer.

Among other new appointments are: Bob Castleman, who becomes technology director in network operations; David Grunwell, who takes up the post of director of network operations North West; and Mike Wilson who will be director of network operations for the East Midlands.

The Highways Agency confirmed all of the appointments.
