Building Schools for the Future (BSF) contractors are braced for increased competition following the entry of three new bidders into the market.
Morgan Sindall, Sodexho and Serco are to join the fray in the booming education sector.
Tim Byles, Partnerships for Schools' head, welcomed the news. He told a government select committee hearing their arrival marked strong, continuing market interest in BSF, which he said provided "numerous opportunities" for small and medium-sized firms.
