The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has released new aerial photographs showing the 2012 stadium fast taking shape.
With four years to go until the Games commence, the series of photographs highlight the amount of site remediation that has taken place since enabling works began in July 2007.
One million cubic metres of soil has been excavated to shape the park and 90% of 220 buildings on site have been demolished.
Work on the stadium started three months early in May while work on the aquatics centre started last month – two months early.
Despite the early start, the venues will be completed two months and four months behind schedule respectively but will still be ready for test events.
ODA chief executive David Higgins said: “These new images clearly show the good rate of progress we are making with work now well underway on both the main stadium and aquatics centre.
“With four years to go this Sunday until the London 2012 opening ceremony we are right on track with preparations.”
