Boris will not oppose £200m Doon Street tower

London Mayor Boris Johnson will not object to the construction of a £200m skyscraper on the South Bank.

The proposed 43-storey Doon Street tower would sit on a site between the Waterloo Bridge and the Oxo Tower, according to the Evening Standard.

It would offer 282 flats, a leisure centre and a swimming pool.

The Mayor now has power to veto the plans because they have been the subject of a public inquiry, which took place in the spring before he was elected.
