Bigger volumetric mixer from Armcon

Armcon Cementech has unveiled a road-legal volumetric mixer capable of carrying materials for up to 11m³ of cement (depending on the required mix). The unit is mounted on a tri-axle trailer, operates at 44t GVW and is said to have all the benefits of the company’s best-selling rigid, the MCD10MX150 which carries materials for around 8m³ of concrete.

Its ability to carry more material means fewer trips back to base than a ridged volumetric mixer and it can deliver cement certified to BS and QS RMC standards.

The trailer unit costs some £40,000 less than a complete truck-mounted machine and has its own donkey engine (running on red diesel) to allow it to operate independently of the tractive unit. A sliding rear bogie means the turning circle is similar to that of a traditional eight-wheeler.
