Crown House lays off 50 M&E staff

Crown House is laying off up to 50 M&E workers in the South East following the completion of a string of major airport contracts.

The company - which is part of Laing O'Rourke - is currently negotiating with the Unite union over numbers.

Crown House has recently completed a trio of jobs on Heathrow's T5, the Arora Hotel at Heathrow and improvements to Gatwick.

A Laing O'Rourke spokesman said: "We are discussing how best to reallocate resources as particular major projects are closed out but no final decisions have been taken at this stage."
