Plant hirer A-Plant's specialist groundworks division A-Plant Acrow has spent £800,000 on new trench shoring equipment
The investment is the company's largest single purchase of groundworks equipment and is the first part of a three-year plan to expand its presence in the sector. In this time, it hopes to at least double its share of the £60m market.
The new equipment will be supplied by German company LTW Tiefbauvertriebs and is shared between two products. According to the company, the Mini-Box system is ideal for small and medium-sized urban underground cable and pipelaying projects in trenches up to 3m. The system comes with four different brace sizes.
Deeper trenches will also be catered for by the new LTW shoring boxes, fitted with braces supported by articulated spring elements.
