A windfarm with up to 108 turbines has been approved off the coast of Norfolk.

The Sheringham Shoal windfarm will be the UK’s fourth largest wind farm and able to power 178,000 homes.

Construction is set to start next year with Scira Offshore Energy overseeing the development.

Energy secretary John Hutton told the BBC: “Sheringham Shoal will help provide a significant contribution towards our renewable energy targets.

“Companies want to build here because we have made the UK on of the most attractive places to invest in wind power.”
