A can of ham could join the Gherkin on London’s skyline.
Developer Targetfollow has submitted plans to build a 90m steel and glass tower shaped like a Spam can at 60-70 St Mary Axe.
The 18 storey building, designed by Foggo Architects, features curved facades clad in shimmering steel that shelters it from the sun and reduces the need for air-conditioning.
The application is yet to be considered by the City of
Targetfollow development director Julian Wells told the Evening Standard: “The design is spectacular and we think it will add a huge amount to the City skyscape.
“It has been designed to sit in the foothills of the major tower cluster in this part of the city and we think it will fit in very naturally and add to that view.”
