Mears wins two London social housing contracts worth £57m

Mears has collected two new social housing contracts in London worth a total of £57m.

THe firm picked up a 10-year deal with Octavia Housing and Care worth £36m to provide repair and void services, while it also won a £21m 10-year contract with Old Ford Housing Association.

The social housing firm said the wins brought its total awards in the six months since it announced its preliminary results to £400m.

Mears Group chief executive Bob Holt commented: "Our strategy, based upon long-term partnerships, delivering customer excellence, innovation and investment in our people continues to be the driver behind winning good quality contracts that provide clear and sustainable margins.

"Our order book stands at £1.7bn and the visibility of future revenues has been further enhanced."
