Maitenance firm Hertel renews deal that secures 150 jobs

More than 150 jobs have been secured at maintenance specialist Hertel after the Middlesbrough firm successfully renewed a three-year deal at a petroleum processing plant.

The initial three-year deal has two two-year options that could extend it to seven years.

Hertel will provide scaffolding, insulation, painting, civil and mechanical work at ConocoPhillip's refinery in the Tees Valley. Hertel first started working at the refinery as an insulation contractor in the 1980s.

Regional director Ian Dalgarno said: "This is a very significant contract for Hertel, not only because of the number of jobs involved and the sheer size of the job, but because it reinforces our belief that our business thrives on strong, ongoing relationships with our customers."
