A developer is planning a £200m redevelopment in Leicester that could include a 17-storey hotel and 250 homes.

Bowbridge Group has lodged its plans with Leicester’s council to makeover the city’s old Corah knitwear site off Vaughan Way in the city centre.

If approved, it hopes to start construction of the mixed-use development next summer.

Its proposals include a sports complex, swimming pool, shops, cafes, offices, workshops, 250 homes and a 17-storey hotel.

Historic buildings would be kept, the BBC reported.
