An 18-storey tower that reflects light across the skyline has been approved for London.
Developer Delancey will build the glass tower near Waterloo Station in the place of York House.
Construction contracts have not yet been let and a start date is yet to be announced, but the developer hopes to have the building finished by 2011.
Architect David Ardill told the Evening Standard: “What makes the building special is the double skin and layering of the glass.
“The outer skin will have diagonal dimensions to create a series of small pyramids contributing to the jewel concept.
“This will animate it as the sun moves around, changing colour throughout the day.”
