A subcontractor has accused a Norwich steel cladding firm of ignoring the decisions of adjudicators to pay it more than £100,000 for work completed.
Chorlton Construction Services is taking DGT Steel and Cladding to court to force it to uphold the decisions of five adjudications held earlier this year.
The adjudications relate to work Chorlton completed as a subcontractor on various projects in the south-east including a project at Tottenham Hale.
DGT Steel and Cladding hired Chorlton to provide quantity surveying and site management services at sites between 12 and 13 September 2007.
In a writ filed at the Technology and Construction Court, Chorlton claim DGT failed to pay three invoices in February and March 2008 relating to a total of £83,237.87.
It referred the dispute over to adjudication, splitting the unpaid invoices into five segments and tackling each as a separate matter.
Adjudicators decided in Chorlton’s favour and ordered DGT to pay the outstanding amount plus their fees totalling £14,626.83 and interest totalling £4.239.98.
Chorlton are now seeking the adjudications to be upheld and a total £102,104.68 plus interest and costs to be paid.
