First site worker receives Constructing Better Health card

A site manager from Dudley & Sons has become the first site worker to receive a Construction Better Health (CBH) card.

Dudley site manager Cliff Price was presented with the card by CBH and client Sainsbury's, which has implemented the card throughout its construction supply chain, at its Emerson Green branch, near Bristol.

The voluntary CBH scheme aims to help provide employers with information on an employee's occupational health status.

CBH chairman Trevor Walker said: "The construction industry has made great strides in addressing its safety record, now it has turned its attention to managing work-related health. The potential impact of the CBH scheme is to significantly improve the work-related health of its workforce, which currently sees over 1.8 million working days lost through ill-health."
