Terex has launched three compact tracked loaders (CTLs) with a fourth due next year. While only offering CTLs through five dealers, Terex aims to sell 70 units in the first full year.
The loaders have full suspension undercarriages from ASV (which Terex purchased in March) allowing higher operating speeds, increased traction and reduced ground damage.
The smallest PT-30 model is powered by a 25.1kW Perkins engine and can be specified with either a standard rubber track or a smooth Turf Track, that does not damage grass. It weighs 1.5t and according to Mark Raymond, global product manager for CTLs and skid steers, the PT-30 is "the only road towable CTL on the market". Terex will offer a PT-30 and trailer as a package.
Tipping the scales at 2,880kg and 4,070kg respectively are the PT-60 and PT-80 which are powered by 44.7kW and 60kW versions of the Perkins engine. The PT-60 can also be specified with the Turf Track while the larger machine can be specified with 508mm wide ultra-low ground pressure tracks.
The bigger PT-100 will be added next year.
