The National Construction College (NCC) has appointed Andy Walder as its new director.
Walder, who was previously the NCC’s commercial manager, takes over from David Boyden, who decided to leave his post in July.
Walder headed a team that secured £17.5m worth of finance from the Learning and Skills Council for the redevelopment of the NCC’s flagship training site in Bircham Newton, after plans to fund the work through a housing development fell through.
Commenting on his appointment, Walder said: "There are definitely exciting times ahead, with the redevelopment of our NCC East site in Bircham Newton, the new state-of-the-art training centre at our Scotland campus and the opening of several new sites through the National Skills Academy for Construction programme."
