The Contract Journal Construction Industry Awards are held every autumn at London's Grosvenor House.

The 2008 Awards were announced at a packed ceremony, hosted by Newsnight's Emily Maitlis, with Kier, Balfour Kilpatrick and A-Plant among the companies who walked off with the prizes.

The Contract Journal Best Places to Work in Construction Awards are held every June at Lord's Cricket Ground.

Winners at the 2008 Best Places Awards included Fitzpatrick, Inspace and Holloway White Allom. Guest speaker was 'professional adventurer' Debra Searle MBE.
