Lend Lease Europe chairman Nigel Hugill is to step down from his role in December to "pursue other opportunities outside the Lend Lease Group".
He will not be replaced.
A spokeswoman for the company said: "Nigel joined the business to do a very specific role three years ago and he feels he has fulfilled that role and he wants to look for future opportunities."
In a statement detailing management changes at the firm the company said that development director Robin Butler would remain in his role until September 2009, while Dan Labbad would continue as chief executive officer.
Commenting on his move Hugill said: "The scale and quality of the development pipeline and the pace at which we have been able to team build exceeds any realistic expectations. The delivery at Stratford [Athletes' Village] is absolutely on track and in the best of hands. It is the right time to seek new opportunities."
The company statement added: "Over the past three years under Nigel’s guidance the UK business has won a number of significant and large scale opportunities, including the Elephant & Castle, Chelmsford, Preston and Stratford projects. He has also been instrumental in building a strong and talented development and asset management team."
