The Qatari ruling family is considering terminating its business partnership with developers Candy & Candy on the £1bn Chelsea Barracks project in London, according to reports.

The Sunday Telegraph claimed that the Middle Eastern investors wanted want to take full control of the development which they bought in conjunction with the Candy brothers for £950m last year.

Meanwhile the Evening Standard reported on Friday that the Chelsea Barracks has been given the "amber light" by council planners.

Westminster council's planning committee said the development had the "makings of an acceptable scheme".
