Wates beats Carillion and HBG to £25m Skipton project

Sources say that Wates has seen off five rivals to bag a £25m new-build deal in Skipton, North Yorkshire.

Work is expected to start next month on constructing a new headquarters for the client, the Skipton Building Society, plus a new building for the local authority, Craven Council.

The project is due for completion in January 2010.

Carillion, Taylor Woodrow, Eric Wright, HBG and Shepherd were also in the hunt for the job.
